Sound Exposure Profiling

Uses employer’s organizational structure to establish sampling strategy

Sound exposure determined by evaluating separate activities performed over a work shift

Dose is computed using methodology in Table G-16 (C1 / T1 + C2 / T2 … + Cn / Tn)

Notes:

Sound exposure profiling as described here it is a uniform method for determining work related sound exposure levels. It employs a sampling strategy that is based on the employer’s or a work place's organizational structure. The second aspect of the procedure is the method of data collection. The procedure determines sound exposure risk by evaluating the activities that a worker would perform over a work shift. The compilation of these activities is a profile. The 8 hour time weighted sound exposure level is computed using the method specified in Table G-16 of the noise exposure regulation.
