In conclusion, Sound Exposure Profiling is a reliable methodology for estimating risk for groups of workers.
Its organizational sampling strategy ensures efficient selection of representative exposure groups. Because the structure of exposure records parallels that of records kept by other departments (e.g. payroll/personnel) it also ensures jobs are not overlooked.
The task-based data collection procedure provides a uniform method of cost-effectively documenting sound exposures, with support data that is useful for other hearing loss prevention and engineering efforts.
