Notes:

How would this change our company Hearing Conservation programs? And finally, what would happen if we made these changes.
We need some new ideas - we need some new methods. First of all we have to learn how to identify, protect and motivate the at-risk worker so that we improve the outcomes. Next, we have to manage and direct the hearing loss prevention programs as a business process - chart what we are doing, and when we are doing well, pat ourselves on the back, and when we are not doing well find out what’s causing the undesired outcome. And finally, we need to get back to the idea that engineering noise controls need to be an element of the program that is part of our company safety culture.
After 25 years of experience we must recognize that we can’t rely entirely on hearing protection and hearing conservation.
Thank you.
