Hearing conservation as it has been practiced in industry has not
effectively prevented hearing loss in workers. Hearing Loss Prevention, or
HLP, is a term
coined by NIOSH to clearly indicate that the old ways have not worked, and new ideas are
necessary to prevent hearing loss. |

Communication is the key to
effective hearing loss prevention. JAA
developed HeLP Guide's to foster effective communication of
risk of hazardous noise exposure to workers. |
