Hearing Loss Prevention: A New Paradigm

Compliance with regulations for hearing conservation often results in little more than documentation of hearing loss. Hearing Loss Prevention (HLP) takes the next steps to effectively prevent hearing loss in workers. It includes advances in noise exposure assessment, program process management, effective use of noise control engineering resources, and training (see HeLP Guides). The vision of acceptable program outcomes changes to zero tolerance for noise induced hearing loss.
