Hear/Sāf™ for Windows (Version 5.1)
The central platform of the HearSāf 2000™ Suite is the
Hear/Sāf™ for Windows® program. Hear/Sāf™
has been redesigned from the ground up to house and track the added
elements of the HearSāf 2000™ model. Hear/Sāf™ for Windows® organizes and
stores all worker-specific records including work histories, audiograms,
hearing protection usage, aural histories, training records, results from otoscopic exams, and even the worker's noise exposure assessments.
Hear/Sāf™ Major Features
 |
Develop employee demographics including
work histories. |
 |
Track type of hearing protectors used,
including employee evaluations of the protector, in order to help
identify protectors that do and do not work. |
 |
Document all HLPP training sessions for each employee. |
 |
Build aural histories for individuals that include disease
histories, non-occupational noise exposures, and otoscopic examination
results. |
 |
Assign occupational noise exposures manually or have Hear/Sāf™ assign them automatically. |
 |
Select from numerous summary reports designed for a variety of
applications. |
 |
Automatic OSHA STS, OSHA Recordable, NIOSH,
and Medical Referral analysis, including baseline adjustments for
the OSHA calculations, as necessary. Several analysis options are
available to meet various state and Federal needs, as well as
possible future changes in the regulations. |
 |
After the data has been analyzed, Hear/Sāf
will summarize the results and indicate any recommendations which
may be appropriate, such as retest, training, medical referral,
etc. |
 |
Analysis can be reviewed by Professionals
using Hear/Sāf Professional Tools. |
 |
Notification letters are highly customizable
and can be set up in any language the PC supports, permitting
individual letters to be printed based upon the individual
employee’s preference. (Note – Hear/Sāf comes with default
English and Spanish paragraphs. Other languages are the
responsibility of the user, but can be easily added and edited.)
The letters can be automatically printed after the test. |
 |
All major microprocessor audiometers are
supported. |
 |
Extensive use is made of libraries to
eliminate the need for time-consuming and error-prone manual entry
of information, such as departments, jobs, technicians, training
modules, hearing protection, etc. |
 |
If noise exposures are entered into Hear/Sāf
which are representative of department, job, work shift, etc.,
they can be automatically linked to an individual based on his/her
demographic information, thus developing a history of noise
exposures. Or, individual exposures can be added manually. |
 |
Unique Results screens describing OSHA,
Medical Referral and NIOSH analyses describing why individual
tests may have triggered certain results. |
 |
Numerous features not duplicated in any other
programs, such as tracking the level that “No Response”
actually means (i.e., NR at 95, NR at 100, etc.). This information
is very useful to Professionals reviewing the program. |
